Meta has been accused of deliberately hiding the danger of the company’s applications for a children’s audience. And when facts were discovered that contradicted the official statements of the social network, its shares fell, as a result of which investors lost about $ 100 billion. It was for this amount that a lawsuit was filed. The lawsuit also includes requirements to prevent any tricks on the part of the social network and attempts to deceive the public in the future.
Ohio Attorney General Dave Yots clarified the merits of the lawsuit. According to him, Facebook claimed to take care of children and is engaged in the eradication of online trolls, but in fact, “for its own benefit, has created suffering and divided users.”
The company rejected the claims and called the claim unfounded. The social network intends to “vigorously defend” in court.
