Lockheed Martin’s fifth-generation F-35 Lightning stealthy multirole fighter-bomber has been in high demand lately. A couple of days ago it became known about the large order of the Pentagon for 375 aircraftand now there is evidence that the Czech Republic is considering the purchase of 24 fighters.
This was announced by the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Petr Fiala. According to him, the country’s military department plans to replace 12 Swedish-British Gripen fighters currently in service with the Czech Air Force with 24 F-35 Lightnings. The amount of the transaction may amount to several tens of billions of crowns, that is, about 1 billion US dollars.
