Anniversaries of famous series are usually celebrated with pomp, and Ubisoft is preparing a big event in honor of the 20th anniversary of the Far Cry series. As a starter, the company shared some interesting statistics.
As it turned out, all parts of the saga (from the first, developed by Crytek and released on March 23, 2004, to the last, with Giancarlo Esposito as the antagonist) were played by more than 90 million people. True, it is not entirely clear whether this figure takes into account the audience of the console versions of the original – they were noticeably different from the PC version and, in fact, were separate FPS with a similar (but not identical to the original source) plot.
Ubisoft will be celebrating Far Cry’s anniversary for 10 days, from March 14 to 24. On the 21st, Ubisoft will hold a special broadcast dedicated to the development of exotic action films. However, you can’t expect any big announcements, but those interested can watch the event and receive rewards for it through the Twitch Drops program.
