The Election Commission today announced the assembly elections in Delhi. Voting will take place in Delhi on 5th February and the results will be declared on 8th February. After the announcement of election dates, former Deputy CM of Delhi Manish Sisodia had a special conversation with Aaj Tak and answered many questions. Manish Sisodia is contesting elections from Jangpura this time.
On the question of person-centric politics, Manish Sisodia said, ‘In any party there is only one leader at a time. 10 years from now, 50 years from now, there will be some other leader and the entire party will be the same. There is only one leader and the entire team follows him.
‘Will fulfill every promise made to the people of Punjab’
On the question of promises made by the AAP government in Punjab, Manish Sisodia said, ‘Yes, we have made a lot of promises, out of which some work has been done, some work remains incomplete. We did not promise anything like Rs 15 lakh. Kejriwal did not say for a single thing that it was a jumla. He said yes, we have to do it.
He said, ‘We said 100 things. Out of that, if 80 works have been done, 20 works have not been done, then 10 works have started, 10 works have not started yet. We will do that work also. You raised the issue of Punjab. We have made so many promises to the Punjabi people. Punjabi people have given us 5 years. We promised schools, we are building great schools. We are building a mohalla clinic. Every promise there will be fulfilled in five years. Will do it in Punjab and Delhi also. After the formation of the government in Delhi, we will also fulfill the promises that have been missed.
Manish Sisodia in the fray from Jangpura
Former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia is contesting from Jangpura instead of Patparganj. Educationist Avadh Ojha, who recently joined the party, is contesting from Patparganj seat in place of Sisodia. BJP alleges that Sisodia has left his seat and gone to Jangpura due to fear of defeat.
Manish Sisodia has been MLA from Patparganj seat thrice. In the elections held in 2020, he faced a tough fight from BJP’s Ravindra Singh Negi and in a very close contest, he was able to win the election by just 3207 votes. At that time, Manish Sisodia was leading in the initial trends, but later the BJP candidate gave him a tough competition.
