The founder of Tesla and SpaceX, the richest man on the planet, Elon Musk, has published a new video of statistical tests of the huge Super Heavy accelerator for the Starship spacecraft.
This time, the simultaneous launch of six engines installed on the Super Heavy was tested. As shown in the video, the tests were successful.
“Excellent dust removal!”, – so in his usual joking manner, the billionaire commented on the published video.
The static fire test is part of preparations for the first orbital flight of the SpaceX Starship, which is the largest rocket (with a Super Heavy booster installed). It is capable of more than doubling the thrust of the Saturn V.
Musk previously said that the path to the first orbital test of Starship will not be easy, as explosions and other problems can occur during the tests. The SpaceX CEO estimates that the first orbital test launch of Starship could take place in a month or within a year.
According to the latest published data, Starship can make its test orbital flight only next year.
