The UP government has recently issued an EV policy for electric vehicles, under which you can save up to Rs 1 lakh on buying a new vehicle in the state. The new policy of the Yogi government will not only benefit customers buying private electric vehicles, but commercial buyers like three-wheelers, buses and other electric vehicles are also getting discounts. Exemption on registration fee and road tax The
UP government is giving complete exemption on registration fee and road tax on the purchase of any electric vehicle in the state. This exemption will be available during the first three years of the policy coming into force. Apart from waiving off road tax and registration fee, the UP government will also provide incentives to buy new electric vehicles in the state. Electric two-wheelers will get maximum benefit in the state. The UP government will offer a subsidy of up to Rs 5,000 on the ex-showroom price. About two lakh electric two-wheeler buyers will benefit from this discount.
1 lakh discount on electric car
If one wants to buy an electric car, he can avail subsidy of up to Rs 1 lakh on the ex-factory cost of the vehicle. The first 25,000 electric car buyers in the state can avail the subsidy.
Exemption on Commercial Vehicles
A large number of electric three wheelers are sold in the state. The state government has given a benefit of up to Rs 12,000 on the purchase of electric rickshaw and tempo. This will help around 50,000 buyers of electric three-wheelers in the state. Apart from this, subsidy of up to Rs 20 lakh will also be available on electric bus. The state government has set aside Rs 80 crore as subsidy amount for buying new electric buses.
