A Bengaluru engineering student has been sentenced to five years in prison for celebrating the suicide attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama three years ago on Facebook, one of the biggest terror attacks in the country. A special court has sentenced Faiz Rashid, a resident of Kacharakanahalli in Bengaluru, to five years in jail and fined Rs 25,000.
A suicide bomber belonging to the terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed carried out this attack after ramming a vehicle full of explosives with the truck of a CRPF convoy. He was an engineering student at the time of the crime and had deliberately posted and made comments on Facebook.”
In the judgment, the judge said, “The accused had rejoiced at the murder of very good persons and had celebrated as if he was not an Indian. Because of this the crime committed on the part of the accused against this great country became more brutal.” Is.” On the charge of sedition against Rasheed under Section 124A of the IPC, the judge said, “The Supreme Court has stayed Section 124A and directed the courts to adjourn all pending hearings, appeals and proceedings under this section. Because of this, this court does not have the power to proceed with this offense and it is being postponed till the final decision of the Supreme Court.”
Three days after the Pulwama attack, before the police arrested Rasheed, he tried everything on his mobile. Facebook Posts were deleted. However, these posts were acquired with the help of the Cyber Crime Division of the police and forensic experts confirmed the posts. Tension between India and Pakistan increased after this attack.
