“Empowering Nations: India’s Digital Public Infrastructure Goes Global

IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw emphasized that India has empowered its people through Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI). He expressed hope that other countries would be inspired by India’s development journey and prioritize their digital initiatives accordingly. The G20 Summit, held under India’s presidency, acknowledged the strength of DPI, prompting India to take the initiative to globalize it.

Addressing an event at the United Nations on Citizen Interests: Digital Public Infrastructure, Transformative Technology for Citizens via video conference, Union Minister for Electronics and IT Ashwini Vaishnaw highlighted India’s efforts in leveraging DPI to promote inclusive development.

He underscored that India’s policy aims to ensure that the benefits of the digital revolution reach every corner of its diverse society. The creation of DPI was a result of true teamwork. Vaishnaw noted that the G20 Summit, convened under India’s presidency last year, recognized the strength of DPI, leading India to spearhead its global expansion.

He emphasized the collective responsibility to foster inclusivity and prosperity worldwide. The event was organized by the Permanent Representative of India to the UN in collaboration with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
