New Delhi:
Elon Musk said on Friday that the “legacy blue check” (blue tick appearing on verified handles) on Twitter for those who have not subscribed to Twitter Blue will be removed soon.
Musk announced that the blue checkmark given to users in the past to indicate “active, notable and authentic accounts of public interest” verified by the Twitter platform would be removed.
In response to a tweet questioning Twitter’s paid subscription model, Musk said, “Legacy blue checks will soon be removed. They are the ones that are truly corrupt.”

Twitter said, “Blue subscribers with a verified phone number will get a blue checkmark once approved.” It is noteworthy that last year, Musk had announced that the price of Twitter Blue would be US $ 8 (about ₹ 660) per month, but its price would be different for different markets.
