Elon Musk meets PM Modi
Elon Musk has met Prime Minister Narendra Modi twice in the last one year. But, this will be the first time that Elon Musk will meet PM Modi in India itself. Many speculations are being made regarding this visit of Elon Musk. Elon Musk is going to launch his company Tesla in the Indian market. Work has already started on the plan to launch Tesla’s electric vehicle in the Indian market.
Tesla is one of the largest companies manufacturing electric vehicles in the world. But, Tesla has not yet launched any model in the Indian market. Looking at the sales of vehicles in the world, India is the third largest market for these vehicles. Now Elon Musk wants to bring his electric vehicles in this market.
Production begins for right-hand drivers
Recently there was news regarding Tesla vehicles that the company has started production of cars for right-hand drivers in Berlin keeping in mind the Indian drivers. According to the report of Hindustan Times, a Tesla team may visit India in the third week of April, which is going to decide the location for setting up a manufacturing plant in India.
Government’s new EV policy
The government has brought a new policy on electric vehicles only last month. It is clear from this new policy that the government wants to increase the manufacturing of electric vehicles in India. According to this policy, automobile companies who want to bring electric vehicles in India will have to invest at least Rs 4150 crore i.e. 500 million dollars in India. Also, these companies will have to start manufacturing in India within three years. Also, 25 percent of the parts used in cars will have to be purchased from India only. With this policy, the government is focusing on bringing maximum investment into the country.
