Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has informed that by the year 2030 there can be two crore electric vehicles across the country. We are telling you in this news that how many electric vehicles are there in the country right now and how fast the number of electric vehicles is increasing in the country.
There will be two crore electric vehicles
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has informed that the number of electric vehicles is increasing rapidly across the country. He told that today there are 20.8 lakh electric vehicles in the country. Compared to 2021, there are 1 million electric vehicles and there has been a 300 percent increase in them. By 2030, according to my estimate, there will be two crore vehicles.
UP has maximum number of EVs
The Union Minister said that Uttar Pradesh has the maximum number of 4.5 lakh electric two-wheelers and in the coming times their number will also increase, which will also generate 10 lakh jobs.
target of doubling in five years
The Union Minister said that at present the automobile industry is worth Rs 7.8 lakh crore. The automobile industry has provided four crore jobs. The Government of India and the State Governments get maximum GST from the automobile industry only. My aim is to make this Rs 7.8 lakh crore industry a Rs 15 lakh crore industry in five years.
Gadkari said that at present there are more than 30 crore vehicles in the country. After 10 years the population will be less and the number of vehicles will be much more. There will be three people in every house and five vehicles, at present it is like this in Delhi and Mumbai. The main reason for this is the continuous growth of the automobile industry.
The Union Minister said that the Government of India is scrapping 10 lakh vehicles that are 10 and 15 years old. If 45 lakh vehicles of Government of India and State Governments are scrapped then what will be the result, you can imagine. By doing this, auto components will become 30 percent cheaper. Right now we import aluminium, we import copper. Aluminum comes from countries like Dubai, Australia, US, whose price is Rs 145 per kg. If it is supplied from scrap, then its cost will be Rs.80 per kg.
