Electric rickshaw, three-wheeler sales increased in India, these companies made huge profit

The demand for electric vehicles has increased in India, with passenger vehicles and two/three wheeler vehicles witnessing a significant growth in the past one year. Electric three wheeler sales increased to 1,77,874 units in FY 2022, up from 88,391 units sold in FY 2021. This Vehicle Retail Data has been collected by FADA on 03.04.2022 in collaboration with Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Government of India and 1,379 out of 1,605 RTOs.

of FADA Data As per reports, YC Electric leads the list last year with 17,049 units sold during the financial year 2022. This was higher than the 8,936 units sold in FY21, while the market share declined from 10.11 per cent in FY21 to 9.58 per cent in FY22.

Second on the list, Saera Electric’s sales stood at 8,475 units in FY22, rising from 3,937 units sold in FY21, with a market share of 4.45 per cent to 4.76 per cent. Mahindra Reva’s sales were 3,218 units in FY 2021 which increased to 8,037 units in FY 2022, while the market share increased from 3.64 per cent to 4.52 per cent during the same period.

Champion PolyPlast’s sales have also grown to 7,528 units year-on-year in FY 2022 as against 3,071 units sold in FY21. The market share increased from 3.47 per cent to 4.23 per cent during this period.

In the electric three wheelers list, Dilli Electric sold 6,456 units in FY 2022 which is more than 2,429 units sold in FY 2021. The market share increased from 2.75 per cent to 3.63 per cent during this period. Bestway Agencies sold 6,254 units in FY 2022 as compared to 2,171 units sold in the previous financial year, while Unique International sold 5,022 units in FY 2022 as against 1,667 units sold in FY 2021.

Mahindra’s electric three wheeler sales are higher by 4,809 units in FY2021 as against 3,358 units sold in FY21. The Mahindra e Alfa Cargo is priced at Rs 1.44 lakh and rivals the Euler HiLoad EV and Piaggio Ape E-Xtra FX in the commercial electric three-wheeler space.

Thukral sold 4,334 units in the current year as against 2,004 units sold in FY 2021. Mini Metro also saw sales of electric three wheelers increase from 1,726 units to 4,311 units in FY 2022. Sales of Vani Electric in FY 2022 stood at 4,105 units from 2,960 units sold in FY 2021. Piaggio’s sales increased from 106 units sold in FY21 to 3,426 units in FY22. Piaggio has also registered a growth of its market share from 0.12 per cent in FY21 to 1.93 per cent in 2021.
