Tata Nexon EV Price, Subsidy & Saving: Electric cars are going to dominate the future but at present electric cars may seem expensive to you. Currently, electric cars are much more expensive than petrol or diesel cars. Take the Tata Nexon EV. Its starting price is around Rs 15 lakh while the starting price of its petrol variant is around Rs 7.5 lakh. In such a situation, those who are thinking of buying Tata Nexon EV, they may find it expensive. But, let us tell you how you can save money on an electric car. Let’s talk about Tata Nexon XZ+. Its ex-showroom price is Rs. 16.30 lakhs, whose on-road price in Delhi will be around Rs. 17.15 lakhs.

Now from here on the basis of the rebate given by the government and the cost of using an electric car, let us tell you the further maths. The central government is giving a subsidy of about Rs 299,800 on this. Apart from this, some state governments are also giving exemptions. In such a situation, if you are in Delhi, then you will get a subsidy of Rs 1.15 lakh from the Delhi government. Now the total discount becomes Rs 4,14,800. Now after this total discount, the on-road price of the car will be close to Rs. 13 lakhs. On the other hand, if you take a loan on a car, then you can also take a rebate of up to Rs 1.5 lakh on the interest of the loan. That is, out of Rs 13 lakh, another Rs 1.5 lakh has been deducted, so now its cost is around Rs 11.5 lakh.

Then comes the cost of running it. According to the savings calculator given on the official website of Tata Nexon, if you drive this car 70 kms daily and the cost of petrol is Rs 100, then you can save around Rs 6.6 lakh in five years. Now if this Rs 6.6 lakh is deducted from Rs 11.5 lakh, then this car will save you Rs 4.9 lakh. Now you will find it cheap.
