Delhi: Tata Motors is forging ahead strongly in the Indian market with Electric Vehicles. Currently, the company’s electric cars in the market are Nexon EV, Tago EV. Now the company is preparing a new version of its best-selling mini SUV Tata Punch. Recently this electric car was spotted during testing. The company may launch an electric car this year.
What to expect from Tata Punch
The ICE engine model is famous for the boxy booty and design Tata Punch. Air intake is not needed. But, the company can add advanced features to it. Disc brakes can be seen on all wheels. Apart from this, features like parking brake can also be seen in it. No information has been revealed about the powertrain or battery pack of the Punch EV. However, the company will use Tata Motors’ ZipTran technology powertrain. It is powered by a liquid cooled battery and a magnetic synchronous motor. The first two are power in front of the electric motor car. Punch has a car Tata Tigor. Both use similar systems. However, different batteries can be used.
300 km range in single charging
The company can provide a battery pack with a capacity of 25 KW. It will be able to deliver a driving range of 250 to 300 kilometers in a single charge. It will be the first electric car from Tata Motors to be based on the ALFA platform. The Tiago electric vehicle offers a driving range of up to 325 kms on a single charge. Production of the Tata Punch EV may begin in June. The company can launch it in October. It would be wrong to say anything about the price. But, the price is likely to be around Rs 9 lakh.
