EA counts on AI to create games – neural networks will help increase monetization

Artificial intelligence has become one of the most widely discussed topics recently. Some individuals express genuine concerns about the potential implications of AI in creating movies, games, and books, while others, like Electronic Arts, view the progress of technology with enthusiasm.

During the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media & Telecom conference, EA chief Andrew Wilson discussed the potential of utilizing neural networks in production. He believes that such technology will significantly streamline the development process and reduce production time. Wilson illustrated this point using a virtual stadium as an example – whereas it previously took six months to build, the team has now accelerated the process to just six weeks. Looking ahead, Wilson anticipates that this timeframe could be further reduced to just six days.

The businessman is confident that generative AI will enhance publishing efficiency by 30% and expand the audience by 50% within five years. Gamers are likely to benefit from this advancement as well, as AI-driven content creation will result in a greater volume of content being produced at a faster pace. Consequently, the company stands to improve monetization by 10-20%, as the content will be tailored to better meet the needs of users.

Wilson acknowledges that the technology is still in its early stages, but he remains optimistic about the potential positive impact of neural networks on the future of his company.
