Maruti Suzuki on Monday launched CNG variants of Baleno and XL6 models. Both the cars are now the first CNG models to be available from the Nexa range. However, the company has been providing CNG kits for more than 20 years. The demand for CNG models is still increasing due to rising prices of petrol and diesel and, on the other hand, higher cost of electric vehicles and charging infrastructure. Somehow, this could be the reason behind Maruti Suzuki launching CNG versions of popular models like Baleno and XL6.
Talking about the price, the Delta variant of Baleno S-CNG is priced at Rs 8.28 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Zeta variant has been introduced at Rs 9.21 lakh (ex-showroom). At the same time, the XL6 S-CNG has been launched only in the Zeta variant, which is priced at Rs 12.24 lakh (ex-showroom).
Both the Baleno S-CNG and XL6 S-CNG variants can be availed through the Maruti Suzuki Subscribe program for a monthly subscription fee of Rs 18,403 and Rs 30,821 respectively.

The Baleno gets a 1.2L DualJet petrol engine, while Maruti Suzuki The XL6 is powered by a 1.5-litre K series petrol engine. The Baleno S-CNG variant is capable of producing 77.49 PS of power at 6,000 rpm and 98.5 Nm of torque at 4,300 rpm. The XL6 S-CNG produces 87.83 PS of power at 5,500 rpm and 121.5 Nm of torque at 4,200 rpm.
