Its proprietary company Meta will take a decision by January 7 on allowing former US President Donald Trump to use Facebook. However, what decision was taken will not be announced immediately, but after a few days. Meta has put together a team of members from its public policy, content policy and public relations departments to decide whether to allow Trump to use Facebook and Instagram.
According to sources, Meta is also under pressure to issue a quick decision after getting permission to allow Trump to use Twitter. Twitter’s new owner Elon Musk lifted the ban on Trump in November. At the same time, Trump himself has not shown any interest in using Twitter. In the last presidential election in January 2021, Trump was banned by these social media platforms for raising questions about the violence in Capitol Hill and rigging the voting and questioning the legitimacy of the elections.
