Dodge has released an electric muscle car Charger Daytona with all-wheel drive

Dodge has unveiled its new muscle car, the Charger Daytona. Instead of a noisy gasoline engine, the new product received a pair of electric ones with a total power of over 600 “horses,” as well as a high-capacity battery, all-wheel drive and a recognizable massive body.

The electric Charger will be available in two trim levels: R/T and Scat Pack, each in two-door coupe and four-door sedan body styles. The power of the R/T power plant is 456 hp, which allows the car to accelerate to “hundreds” in 4.7 seconds. The Scat Pack has a 630 hp engine, and acceleration to 100 km/h takes only 3.3 seconds. The power reserve of both modifications is up to 510 km and up to 418 km, respectively.

Both versions of the electric car are built on a 400-volt platform and are equipped with a battery with a capacity of 100.5 kWh. According to the manufacturer, it will take approximately 52 minutes to charge the battery from 5% to 80% from a 175 kW station. Increasing the power to 350 kW reduces the “refueling” speed in the same range to 32 minutes.

Direct Connection proprietary software will allow you to increase engine power if the factory settings are not enough. The R/T modification with the Stage 1 update will receive up to 40 additional “horses” (total 496 hp), and the Scat Pack version with the Stage 2 package will be able to “pump up” to 670 hp.

The car is equipped with 16-inch Brembo brakes, and the intelligent Brake by Wire braking system uses a central module to control the deceleration of the car.

Like all electric vehicles, the Charger Daytona will emit a low-speed hum to alert pedestrians and other road users of its presence. At high speeds, the Fratzonic chamber exhaust system will come into effect, adding the signature roar of a powerful gasoline engine.

The new product supports several driving modes: “Auto”, “Eco”, “Sport” and “Wet/Snow”. With the Scat Pack, drivers will receive two additional modes: Track and Drag. The former will provide maximum performance on smooth, dry surfaces, while Drag is designed to improve straight-line acceleration.

The Dodge Charger Daytona EV will go on sale this year on the US market, but its price is still unknown.
