Doctors predicted the future of the COVID-19 pandemic

Scientists from the UK National Health Service support this point of view. They said that “the virus will continue to spread widely among the population.” It will have seasonal spikes in the winter, reminiscent of the flu and other respiratory illnesses.

But it’s worth noting that vaccination should ultimately stabilize the situation. Health experts call this a “steady state”. During this period, the number of hospitalizations will not exceed 750 people per day.

At the same time, in their recent document, the researchers predicted four different scenarios for the course of the pandemic. The optimistic one implies that the peak of new infections (around 30 thousand per day) will occur in July 2022.

Another option is considering the possibility of infecting 85 thousand people per day. This is, accordingly, the worst-case scenario.
