2022 has not been the best year for the PC market, including motherboard manufacturers. According to DigiTimes, the supply of the leaders of this market sank very badly.
More precisely, in 2022, Asus, MSI, Gigabyte and ASRock sold about 31.3 million boards in total, while a year earlier, more than 44.5 million. Among these four, ASRock suffered the most, with sales falling by 55%, and better of all things were at Gigabyte with a drop of 14%.
Reportedly, the situation was exacerbated by the fact that the new Intel Raptor Lake processors can be used with Alder Lake boards, and in the case of AMD, although there was a socket change, AM5 only supports DDR5, which was expensive for most of the year, because of which users were in no hurry to change the platform.
