Do babies cry in the womb

Scientists explained that if we understand crying as a loud cry expressing emotion, then children, of course, do not cry in the womb. However, the fetus can demonstrate appropriate facial expressions. Facial expressions develop between about 24 and 35 weeks, and their complexity increases with pregnancy. It looks like the baby is practicing his facial expressions before full crying. Unfortunately, scientists don’t know if these facial expressions are related to fetal pain or discomfort.
