DJI FC100 Cargo Drone Unveiled: Carries 80kg, Charges in 9 Minutes

China Unveils New Heavy-Duty Transport Drone DJI FC100

Can carry up to 80 kilograms with a flight range of 26 kilometers

DJI, a global leader in drone technology, has introduced its latest cargo drone — the FlyCart 100 (FC100). This new model is designed to deliver heavy cargo to remote and difficult-to-reach areas.

The FC100 features impressive specifications. It has a maximum takeoff weight of 150 kilograms and can carry up to 80 kilograms of cargo using a single-battery setup. When flying without cargo, it has a maximum range of 26 kilometers. The drone can operate at an altitude of 1,500 meters, with a maximum ceiling of 6,000 meters. One of the highlights is its fast-charging system, which can fully charge the battery in just 9 minutes.

The drone uses eight 62-inch carbon fiber propellers arranged in a coaxial layout, which provides excellent stability and strong lift even in challenging weather conditions.

The FC100 is suitable for a variety of tasks. It has already been tested for delivering electrical equipment, construction tools in mountainous regions, and supplies to remote communities. In emergencies, it can quickly transport medical supplies and rescue gear to disaster-hit areas.

To ensure safe operation, the FC100 includes a multi-layer safety system. Its collision avoidance system combines high-precision lidar, millimeter-wave radar, and five wide-angle cameras. In case of a critical failure, an automatic parachute system deploys to safely bring down both the drone and its cargo.

The drone is controlled using DJI’s RC Plus 2 remote, which features a 7-inch high-brightness display. The control range extends up to 20 kilometers, thanks to the DJI O4 communication protocol. Additional 4G modules and D-RTK3 relay stations help maintain a stable connection even in areas with poor visibility or rugged terrain.

Although DJI has introduced the FC100 as a civilian drone, experts suggest it could also serve military and defense operations. Heavy-lift drones like the FC100 are already being used by various armed forces for tasks such as supply drops, medical evacuation, and surveillance.

The first production units of the FC100 are expected to be available next year. According to industry experts, drones of this kind will likely play an important role in the future of logistics and delivery services around the world.
