Dimensity 9000+ beats Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1, while Snapdragon 870 outperforms Snapdragon 888 in new Master Lu rankings

The creators of the Master Lu benchmark summed up the results of the third quarter of 2022 by publishing a rating of the most powerful single-chip systems for smartphones.

Over the past quarter, Qualcomm and MediaTek released the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 and Dimensity 9000+, two flagship chips that bring noticeable performance improvements over the original platforms.

Dimensity 9000+ beat the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 by a very small margin to top the list according to the ranking data. The Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor scored 340706 points, while the Dimensity 9000+ processor score was 352717 points. However, in the GPU part, the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 scored 516,004 points, surpassing the Dimensity 9000+’s 513,668 points.

The third and fourth places were taken by Dimensity 9000 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, respectively, which are noticeably inferior to the new models.

Interestingly, the Snapdragon 870 is ahead of the Snapdragon 888 in this ranking and comes close to the Snapdragon 888 Plus.
