The students’ agitation is deepening in Bihar regarding alleged irregularities in the BPSC examination. Demonstration of students continues today in Patna, Bihar regarding investigation of irregularities in BPSC re-exam and reinstatement examinations. Purnia MP Pappu Yadav has announced Bihar bandh today i.e. Sunday, January 12, demanding cancellation of BPSC 70th PT exam. He urged the traders to make this bandh successful. At many places in Patna, students are disrupting traffic by setting fire on the middle of the road. Along with this, there is an uproar by Bandh supporters at Ashok Rajpath in Patna. Let us tell you that BPSC has called a bandh to investigate irregularities in re-exam and reinstatement examinations. MP Pappu Yadav will also hit the streets of Patna at 11 am. Bhim Army and AIMIM have also supported this bandh.
BPSC 70th Preliminary Exam Result and Main Exam
BPSC 70th Combined Competitive Preliminary Examination (BPSC 70th PT Exam) was held on 13 December 2024. Since the day of the examination, there have been demands for cancellation of the examination, alleging irregularities among the candidates. Let us tell you that amid the BPSC 70th preliminary examination controversy in Bihar, re-exam was conducted for 12 thousand candidates on January 4. After this, the Commission (BPSC) after investigation, canceled the examination of only Bapu Exam Center and conducted it again on January 4. Re-exam was conducted for about 12 thousand candidates at 22 exam centres. Now the Commission is preparing to declare the result of the preliminary examination soon.
Actually, BPSC 70th PT exam was conducted on 13th December at various examination centers in Bihar. Since the day of the examination, the candidates have been alleging irregularities in the examination and demanding its cancellation and re-conduct. The candidates alleged that at Bapu Exam Center in Patna, students had received the paper late and the seal of the paper was already open. On the day of the examination, angry candidates went to another exam room and threw away the sheets and papers of the candidates, which has also been confirmed in the CCTV cameras installed in the exam room.
March towards Chief Minister’s residence
Earlier, student protesters from organizations like AISA (All India Students Association) and RYA (Revolutionary Youngsters Association) had started a march from Gandhi Maidan in Patna towards the Chief Minister’s residence. The students demand that the BPSC exam be canceled and conducted afresh in a transparent manner.
Anger increased due to lathi charge and water cannon
Even before this, the use of lathicharge and water cannon by the police on the students’ protest in Patna has further increased the anger of the students and their organizations. The students say that the government is trying to suppress their voice, but they will not back down from their demands.

Government’s silence!
Till now no official statement has come from the government in this matter. Students and opposition parties say that if their demands are not met soon, the agitation will be further intensified. This growing movement in Patna has created a big challenge for the Bihar government. Now it remains to be seen what stand the government takes on this matter.
