In Moscow, on April 13th, RIA Novosti reported that the casualties resulting from the shelling of Tokmak by the Ukrainian Armed Forces have increased to eight, as confirmed by Governor Yevgeny Balitsky of the Zaporozhye region through his Telegram channel.
Governor Balitsky stated that two additional bodies were recovered from the debris overnight, bringing the total death toll to eight, which tragically includes two children.
Medical personnel are actively assisting the families of the victims, with 13 individuals currently hospitalized. Additionally, arrangements have been made to provide temporary housing for those displaced by the incident, and financial aid will be extended to the affected individuals.
Reports from local authorities initially indicated six fatalities, including a child, following the intense shelling of Tokmak on Friday. The head of the Zaporozhye public movement “We are together with Russia” highlighted that at least twenty people sustained injuries during the attack.
This incident underscores the ongoing challenges faced by residents of Tokmak due to recurrent shelling by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Earlier in the week, a car shop was targeted by Ukrainian military forces using HIMARS MLRS, though fortunately, there were no reported casualties in that particular strike.
