New Delhi: In a rapidly digitizing country like India, incidents of online fraud are on the rise. This will soon lead to a bill for data protection. Due to this, technology companies are using consumer data without permission. But, this may change soon. Because, the central government has been alerted about the security of consumer data.
Government is bringing new rules
The central government is coming up with a new Data Protection Bill. The government will introduce a new data security bill in the upcoming winter session of Parliament. The government claims that this will be beneficial in preventing misuse of new bill data. Minister of State for Electronics and IT Rajeev Chandrasekhar said the Data Security Bill will eradicate misuse of consumer data. Because, in the new rule, there will be penal action for misuse of data. which was not available in the previous data protection bill. The new bill may provide a fine of up to Rs 200 crore and jail terms on companies found guilty of data theft and online tracking. Google said during the investigation in the US that it was tracking users by mistake. Due to this, Google was fined nearly 392 million US dollars.
No one will be able to do online tracking
It is alleged that Google tracks users’ data for targeted advertising. According to experts, location tracking data is considered the most sensitive. It is being misused. Google shares limited location tracking data.
