New Delhi. Apple is being praised a lot for the crash detection feature of the iPhone 14. In fact, a man got information about his wife’s car accident nearby because of this feature, immediately after which he reached the spot and that too before the arrival of medical help. An Apple iPhone user recounted the incident in a Reddit post, saying he was on the phone with his wife when he heard her scream. Within seconds the crash detection feature of the phone alerted the husband about his wife being involved in an accident. This feature not only helped the person to reach the accident spot in a precise manner, but also helped him to reach the accident spot before the arrival of the ambulance.
According to a Reddit post, an iPhone 14 user who goes by the name ‘u/unclescorpion’ wrote, “While I was on the phone with my wife on her way home from the store, I heard her scream and Phone line dead. Within seconds, I got a notification from her iPhone that she had met with an accident and I also got to know her exact location. He further said, ‘I went there and reached before the arrival of the ambulance, which was called immediately by his phone.’
The crash detection feature triggers Emergency SOS, which contacts first responders and anyone on the user’s emergency contact list. Within the Health app, users can add emergency contacts. The iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, Apple Watch Series 8 and Apple Watch Ultra are all built with advanced sensors for car crash detection. The algorithm uses information from the device to determine if an accident has occurred and call for help.
