Core i9-14900KS will run at 6.5GHz? Raptor Lake Refresh CPUs will be able to reach frequencies of 6.2 or even 6.5 GHz

According to reports, this fall, Intel will release Raptor Lake Refresh desktop processors, which will replace the Raptor Lake. New data from Moore’s Law is Dead suggests that such CPUs will be released in the third quarter, and the top model can operate at frequencies up to 6.2 or even 6.5 GHz!

Recall that the Core i9-13900K offers a frequency of up to 5.8 GHz, and the Core i9-13900KS became the world’s first mass-produced x86-compatible consumer processor with a frequency of 6 GHz out of the box. We can assume that the Core i9-14900K will operate at 6.2 GHz, and the Core i9-14900KS at 6.5 GHz. True, the current Intel flagships are distinguished by huge power consumption and heating, and the Refresh line will not switch to the new technical process, so the issue of consumption and heating will be even more acute.

In any case, as in other generations of Refresh, we are waiting for about the same processors, only with slightly increased frequencies. There are rumors about desktop Meteor Lake, but so far more sources say that such CPUs will only be in a mobile version.

Recall that Meteor Lake processors are credited with very powerful iGPUwhich can outperform even the Radeon 780M.
