Confusion in buying Tata and Mahindra’s EV? Understand the difference between the two in easy language

Tata Nexon EV Prime, Nexon EV Max vs Mahindra XUV400: Electric vehicles are growing in popularity in India. Major automakers have introduced new EVs, making the market more competitive. This comparison focuses on three of the most powerful electric vehicles currently available in India: Tata Nexon Prime and Tata Nexon Max, and the Mahindra XUV400. This comparison highlights the unique features and specifications of each car.

Tata Nexon and Mahindra XUV400

Talking about power, Tata Nexon Prime generates 127bhp power, whereas in Tata Nexon Max, this power reaches up to 140bhp. At the same time, the Mahindra SUV 400 claims that the SUV generates power of 147bhp. In terms of torque, the Tata Nexon Prime produces 245 Nm of torque, the Tata Nexon Max produces 250 Nm of torque. Mahindra XUV400 generates 310 Nm torque.

Battery Life and Charging

Talking about the battery, a 30.2kwh Lithium Ion Polymer battery has been given in the Tata Nexon Prime. Which takes up to 9 hours to fully charge with a normal AC charger, providing a range of 312 kms after full charge. At the same time, you can charge it with a home fast charger in 6.30 hours. 0-80% charge can be done with DCI fast charger in just 60 minutes i.e. one hour.

The Nexon Max has a battery capacity of 40.5kwh which takes a long time of 15 hours to charge with a normal charger. It takes 6 hours to charge it with a fast AC charger. At the same time, DC fast charging can charge 0-80% battery in just 56 minutes. Its full range is 437 km. The XUV400 34.5kwh battery can be charged in 13 hours with a normal AC charger and 6 hours 30 minutes with an AC fast charger. DC fast charging takes just 50 minutes to charge the Mahindra XUV 0-100%.



In the Indian market, Tata Nexon Prime starts from ₹ 17.40 Lakh (ex-showroom) while Tata Nexon Max starts from ₹ 21.28 Lakh (ex-showroom). The Mahindra XUV price starts between these two at Rs. 18.58 Lakh (ex-showroom). Both Tata Nexon Prime and Tata Nexon Max cars have been launched in the market.
