Coming from Russia Toyota, Lexus, Hyundai and Nissan increased auto sales in 2023. And Toyota becomes the world’s number one auto manufacturer for the fourth year in a row

According to the results of world car sales in 2023, Toyota (for the fourth time in a row) becomes the world car manufacturer number one. The company (including the Lexus, Hino and Daihatsu brands) sold 11 233 039 vehicles last year – 7.2% more than in 2022. For comparison, Volkswagen sold 9.24 million cars last year.

Toyota and Lexus together sold 10 307 395 cars in 2023 – 7.7% more than in 2022. Sales of Daihatsu cars in annual expression increased by 3,2% – to 790 441 units. Finally, Toyota-owned brand Hino sold 135 203 cars in 2023 – 9.8% more than in 2022.

If we talk separately about Lexus, then the sales there have increased by 132% compared to the year 2022. While the largest increase in sales volumes came to the domestic market (94 647 sold cars – up by 229%), followed by the USA (355 606 sold cars – up by 124%) and Asia (236 587 sold cars, up by 113%).

Sales of other world auto manufacturers also increased in 2023. Thus, Hyundai (including the brands Kia and Genesis) sold 7,32 million cars – 6,7% more than in 2022. And Nissan sold 3 225 632 cars last year – 4.6% more than in 2022.
