Colorful is known for its graphics cards and laptops, but it also produces other electronics. The Chinese company recently added the HiBy W4 gadget to its lineup: it can be connected to a smartphone or other device via Bluetooth or a wired connection to boost sound quality.
HiBy W4 is based on two CS43198 chips and supports Bluetooth 5.4, aptX Adaptive/HD/Lossless, LDAC, SBC and AAC codecs over the air, and DSD512 and PCM up to 768 kHz over the wire.
The gadget’s body features balanced (4.4 mm, 475 mV) and unbalanced (3.5 mm, 125 mV) jacks. Playback is controlled using the 2-inch touchscreen display, buttons, and rotary encoder.
A 1500 mAh battery provides battery life. According to the manufacturer, a single charge will last for five hours when using a balanced port (up to 6.3 hours when using an unbalanced port).
A removable clip allows you to attach the device to clothing, and the device can be attached to your smartphone using MagSafe. The device measures 66.15 x 65.1 x 21.5 mm and weighs 93 grams.
The price of Colorful HiBy W4 in the US market is $99.
