CNG Cars: CNG cars will run with cow dung! Suzuki has tied up with this agency of the Government of India

Suzuki Motor Corporation (Suzuki Motor Corporation) (SMC), the parent company of the country’s largest vehicle manufacturer Maruti Suzuki (Maruti Suzuki), has announced to produce biogas with the aim of tackling carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. Will use cow dung, which can be used to run CNG cars in the country.

The announcement is part of Suzuki Motor Corporation’s growth strategy for FY30.

Maruti currently sells 14 CNG models, including Alto, Alto K10, S-Presso, Celerio, Eeco, WagonR, Swift, Dzire, Ertiga, Baleno, XL6, Grand Vitara, Tour S and Super Carry. The company’s share in the CNG car market in India is around 70 per cent.

Maruti started selling CNG cars in 2010 with three models – Eeco, Alto and WagonR. It has sold more than 1.14 million (11,40,000) units till date, saving 1.31 million tonnes of CO2 emissions.

SMC said, “While we expect the Indian market to grow by FY30, despite the reduction in CO2 emissions from products, we also expect the increase in total CO2 emissions amounts to be unsustainable. The challenge is to strike a balance between increasing units and reducing overall CO2 emissions.”

The company said, “Suzuki’s unique initiative to address this challenge is the biogas business, which will produce and supply biogas derived from cow dung, which is a dairy waste, mainly seen in rural areas of India.” Can go.” The company said, this biogas can be used for its CNG model.

SMC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Dairy Development Board, an agency of the Government of India, and Banas Dairy, Asia’s largest dairy producer, for verification of biogas. The company has also invested in Fujisan Asagiri Biomass LLC, which produces electricity in Japan using biogas derived from cow dung.
