During the first four months of this year, sales of new trucks in Russia grew by almost 40% and amounted to 38,643 vehicles, according to the Izvestia newspaper, citing data from the analytical and consulting company ASM-Holding.
Chinese automakers are actively capturing the Russian market, both in the passenger and truck segments. But the leader in the truck market is still KamAZ, which sold 9870 vehicles in four months.
The rest of the top five are occupied by Chinese brands. Second place with a score of 6140 cars was taken by Sitrak. Third place went to Shaanxi, with sales of 5,200 vehicles. FAW and Howo sold 3,450 and 2,440 vehicles, placing fourth and fifth respectively.
GAZ sold 2,100 trucks during the reporting period, ranking sixth. Next comes the Belarusian MAZ (2000 units), the Russian Ural (1140 units), as well as the Chinese Foton and JAC, which sold 1000 vehicles each.
