Chinese space truck “Tianzhou-3” will repeat the fate of “Progress MS-18” – today it will burn up in the Earth’s atmosphere

China’s Manned Space Flight Program Administration announced that the Tianzhou-3 cargo spacecraft will return to the Earth’s atmosphere today and almost completely burn up in it. Thus, he will repeat the fate of his “colleague” – “Progress-18” – which burned up in the Earth’s atmosphere on June 2.

As specified in the widespread statement of the Chinese department, small fragments of the truck will fall in the sea area of the South Pacific Ocean. On July 17, at 10:59 Beijing time (05:59 Moscow time), Tianzhou-3 undocked from the PRC space station in connection with the completion of all tasks assigned to it. The process of its return will be controlled from Earth by Chinese specialists.

The launch of Tianzhou-3 was carried out on September 20, 2021 from the Wenchang Cosmodrome on the northeast coast of Hainan Island. The truck delivered to the station food, fuel, spacesuits and other materials for the crew of the Shenzhou-13 manned spacecraft, which worked in orbit for six months and returned safely to Earth on April 16.
