The process of fire in electric vehicles does not seem to stop. In the past several months, incidents of electric vehicles catching fire have been reported from every corner of the country and now, the latest news is from China, where an L9 Hybrid SUV from Li Auto brand has reportedly caught fire. A media report says that the video of this incident is also going viral on social media.
Pandaily’s Report According to, recently a video has surfaced, in which a car is seen catching fire. The vehicle is said to be the Li Auto L9 model, which is a hybrid SUV and is the second car manufactured by the company. Reports say that the L9 SUV offers the longest electric range of any PHEV (Plug In Hybrid Vehicle) in the world. The company reportedly introduced this hybrid car in March 2022.
Li Auto’s Website According to the L9, the maximum electric range of the L9 is 215 km, while the total range with its fuel tank goes up to 2,116 km.
A screenshot has been shared by the online publication from the Chinese social media platform Weibo, in which this alleged car is seen burning. As per reports, a social media user claimed that the vehicle owner heard a loud noise inside the car while driving. The loud bang was apparently related to the braking system of the car. The vehicle owner parked the Li Auto L9 SUV on the side of the road, after which it reportedly burst into flames within a minute.
The company said in a statement to Pandaily that it has involved local departments and is working to find out the cause of the accident through a full investigation.
