Chinese company’s car creates a stir in India, huge booking in the first month of its launch

BYD Seal EV: Chinese car company BYD’s Seal electric sedan is getting good response from customers. More than 500 bookings for Seal EV have been received in less than a month after its launch.

BYD Seal EV Bookings: Chinese electric car company BYD launched Seal electric sedan in India on March 5, 2024. It is available in 3 variants – Dynamic, Premium and Performance, priced at Rs 41 lakh, Rs 45.55 lakh and Rs 53 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively. The car is getting a good response from the customers as in less than a month after its launch, the company has received more than 500 bookings for the Seal EV.

Expressing happiness over the bookings, Sanjay Gopalakrishnan, Senior Vice President, Electric Passenger Vehicle Business, BYD India, said, “We are confident about our product and its pricing. We are happy with the response we have received from the market. Immediately after the launch, we have received 200 bookings. The figure was crossed. Now within 15 days we have received 500 bookings.”

The new BYD Seal electric sedan can be booked from the company’s website or from any authorized dealership by paying a token amount of just Rs 1.25 lakh. If you book Seal EV before March 31, 2024, you will get a free home charger, 3kW portable charging box and 6 years of RSA (Roadside Assistance).

BYD Seal electric sedan comes with two battery options – 61.44kWh and 82.56kWh. A single motor is available with a small battery pack, which generates 204hp power and 310Nm torque. This model is claimed to run up to 510 km once fully charged. At the same time, the BYD Seal with a larger 82.56kWh battery pack comes in two variants – rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD).

Its single motor RWD model generates 312hp power and 360Nm torque. At the same time, with dual-motor AWD system it generates 530hp power and 670Nm torque. It is claimed that its RWD version can give a range of 650 km on a single full charge while the AWD version can run 580 km.
