Maxsun has unveiled the original PC build platform, the Meterstone Alder Lake H45 motherboard. Retaining the usual desktop expansion slots, it comes with a soldered 12th generation Intel chip that is installed in laptops.
An interesting feature of the novelty was the absence of a dedicated chipset – it is already part of the mobile processor. The board has two DIMM slots for RAM, one PCI-Express 4.0 x16 and standard power connectors, as well as connectors for case buttons and various peripherals. In addition, a picture posted by users of the ChipHell forum shows the M.2 slot, USB ports and video output for integrated graphics.
The source does not provide information about the type and form factor of the processor cooling system soldered on the hybrid board. According to rumors, the “heart” of the novelty was the 12-core Core i5-12500H with 14 threads of execution. The start date of sales, price and regional availability of the unusual motherboard are still unknown.
