The Bloomberg report said that Chinese authorities have asked 100 companies to restrict operations to only employees who live inside a closed loop or bubble. Officials have also asked companies to reduce unnecessary interactions between non-manufacturing workers and factory floors to reduce infection.
The lockdown comes at a time when Apple is rumored to have started commercial production of the iPhone 14 model ahead of its expected launch in September 2022. It may get delayed due to the lockdown and may be postponed for a month after its launch.
Series launch may happen in September
However, Foxconn says that despite the lockdown, operations at the Shenzhen factory are normal. Therefore, it is expected that Apple will get the iPhone 14 series ready in time for the launch event to be held in September.
