China asks Apple to enlarge some islands in the Maps app

Back in 2014-2015, Apple received a request from the Chinese authorities for a relatively small group of uninhabited islands – China and Japan are arguing about who owns them. We are talking about the Senkaku archipelago (or Diaoyu, the name depends on which side you take in the dispute).

China has asked Apple to make these islands bigger. It is reported that Apple not only made the changes back then, but even today the islands are still displayed on a larger scale than the areas around them.

Recall that the contract between Apple and China amounted to more than $ 275 billion. Within its framework, the American company promised the Chinese that it would help them develop their economy and technology.
