All seven miners trapped since Monday in an underground warehouse of a coal mine in northern China’s Shanxi province have died. Local officials confirmed this on Friday. Coal mine owner Gao Naichun said that at midnight on Monday, when the miners were repairing a coal feeder, a pile of coal in the warehouse collapsed, burying seven people.
The last body was recovered on Friday during a rescue operation at a coal mine of Taoyuan Xinlong Coal Industrial Corporation, located in Zhongyang County, according to the county administration. After this the rescue operation was ended.
