Renders of the promising compact crossover Chery TJ-1 appeared on the Web. It differs greatly from the current Chery lineup with its distinctly off-road design, with a massive front end, accentuated wheel arches and no rear side windows. TJ-1 looks brutal, and its main competitor in the home market is named Haval H-Dog.

Alas, the technical details are still minuscule. It is only reported that the car will receive an all-wheel drive system, and turbocharged units with a volume of 1.5 and 1.6 liters can be installed from engines. The release of a hybrid version is also not excluded. According to preliminary data, the release of Chery TJ-1 will start in July or August of this year, which means that the official premiere may take place as early as late spring.
