Chery has another novelty in China – the Kaiyi Tanggu crossover has been announced (it also appears under the code designation T17). This is a mid-size car, aimed (like all Kaiyi) at a youth audience. And it should also be very affordable: the expected cost of a crossover is from 11,700 to 16,200 dollars.
The Kaiyi Tanggu is based on the Chery T1X platform. New dimensions – 4716 x 1860 x 1718 mm, wheelbase – 2710 mm. Among the features of the Tanggu’s appearance are narrow LED headlights, an illuminated logo at the junction of the radiator grille and the hood, and four exhaust pipes.

The base Tanggu will get a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine, but there will also be a plug-in hybrid option – also with a 1.5-liter engine and a pure-electric range of 120 km.
The Kaiyi brand is one of those with which the domestic Avtotor plant has established cooperation. Therefore, it is possible that in the future Kaiyi Tanggu could also reach Russia.
