Google submitted a list of interview questions for a programmer position that fed the ChatGPT language model. As a result, the system successfully passed all tests.
“Surprisingly, ChatGPT gets hired at L3 after a programmer interview,” the Google document says. At the same time, the chatbot itself said that it was not able to recreate human creativity, as well as problem-solving skills.
“No, ChatGPT will not replace software engineers. ChatGPT is a tool that can help solve certain problems, but it cannot completely replace the creativity, problem-solving skills, and critical thinking abilities of a software engineer. In addition, ChatGPT requires human oversight and guidance to operate effectively.”, the chatbot clarified.
The experiment itself was carried out in hot testing of several chatbots with artificial intelligence that Google runs internally. As a result, ChatGPT can apply for the position of a third level engineer with a remuneration of approximately $183,000 per year.
Thus, at least in technical matters, neural networks demonstrate a very good level, although, of course, they need human supervision.
