According to the information, the company is going to provide free charging facility for a few months at about 35 charging stations. The initiative has been launched to promote the use of electric vehicles and encourage EV charging at public stations. The company has initially tried to offer free EV charging facility for few hours in all major areas of Delhi.

Charging charges will be charged at the rate of Rs 10 per kilowatt at these charging stations till early morning i.e. before 12 noon. Whereas from 12 noon to 3 pm, the charging fee will be free for all types of electric vehicles.

Sumit Dhanuka, Founder, Electriva said, “By providing free charging during the afternoon hours, we aim to strengthen the EV ecosystem in the national capital. He said that it is important to encourage public charging at present to make people switch from fossil fuels to electric vehicles.

He informed that Electriva will set up one EV charging station in every three kilometers in Delhi. For this, space has already been allotted by three municipal bodies of Delhi. According to the latest data from the Vahan Portal, 10,707 electric vehicles have been registered in Delhi from January to March this year. Of these, 5,888 are two-wheeler electric vehicles. At the same time, more than 10.60 lakh electric vehicles have been registered across the country.
