New crater discovered on the moon
A new discovery has been made by Chandrayaan-3’s Pragyan Rover. A scientist from the Physical Research Laboratory in Ahmedabad has entered the minimum mark of Science Director. The signals and discovery information sent by Pragyan revealed that the rover is currently exploring the surface of the moon in the south pole region of the celestial body.

Why was this discovery special?
- New crater discovered on the moon
- The rover discovered the largest and oldest impact basin on the Moon’s surface when it passed through a high terrain about 350 km from the Aitken Basin on the south pole.
- The discovery of this crater on the Moon could lead to the discovery of new dust and rocks that are important for geological evolution.
