Chakshu portal launched: There will be complaint about fraudulent calls and messages, cyber crime will be curbed

The Government of India on Monday unveiled the Chakshu portal under Sanchar Sathi. In this, customers can report suspected fraudulent calls, messages like lottery offers, job offers and leaks of phone numbers.

Union IT and Communications Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said the Department of Telecommunications Services has saved nearly Rs 1000 crore of citizens in the last nine months through digital measures to check fraud and cyber crime. Apart from this, Rs 1008 crore related to fraudulent transactions in various bank accounts have been seized.

Vaishnav said, things suspected to be fraud can be reported to Chakshu. In this, mobile numbers leaked by business institutions can also be reported. Action will be taken against the culprit. The minister said that in the last nine months, one crore mobile numbers linked to malicious activities have been disconnected.
