Supreme Court’s strict remarks
Hearing one such case, the Supreme Court on Thursday said that if the airbags used to protect the passengers are not opened in the event of an accident, then the companies will have to pay a fine. Not opening the airbags will be considered a major negligence of the car companies. By imposing fines, there will be more awareness about safety in companies and they will be more serious about it. In the year 2015, a person named Shailendra Bhatnagar bought the Hyundai Motor India Limited car Creta. In the year 2017, this car had an accident in which the airbags of the car did not open. Due to this, the customer suffered serious injuries in that accident. After this, Shailendra filed a petition against the car company in the consumer forum saying that he bought this car in view of the safety feature but, its safety features did not work at the time of the accident and he There were serious injuries. After this the consumer forum gave a verdict in favor of Shailendra Bhatnagar. Hyundai challenged this decision in the Supreme Court but, the court rejected Hyundai’s petition. The court has ordered the company to replace the customer’s car. Along with this, give him a compensation of Rs 3 lakh.

The government has made it mandatory to install airbags in the car.
Let us tell you that in view of the safety of the passengers, the central government has made it mandatory to install airbags in the car from January 1, 2022. This will give better safety to the passengers while traveling in the car.
