Car Cleaning Tips With Household Items

Car Cleaning Tips With Household Items: While expensive shampoos, seat cleaners, and conditioners are often used for car cleaning, there are also household items that can do the job effectively. In this article, we will explore how to clean your car using some common household items, including toothpaste.

Toothpaste

While it’s not recommended for removing scratches from the car as it may damage the paint, toothpaste can be useful for cleaning headlights. A small pack of toothpaste, costing around Rs 10, can help restore the shine of headlights. Simply apply a small amount of toothpaste to the headlight and rub gently to bring back its shine.

Dishwashing Soap

Mixing dishwashing soap and water can create a powerful degreaser that effectively removes dirt and dust from the surface of the paint. This solution can be used for washing the car, particularly when a deeper cleaning is required. However, it’s advisable to use dishwashing soap for car washing only when necessary.

Vinegar

For cleaning the interior of the car, especially seats (whether leather or leather-like) that may have stains, a mixture of equal parts white vinegar and water can be highly effective. Simply spray the mixture onto the seats and wipe them clean. This method helps in keeping the seats and interior of the car clean.

Coconut Oil

After cleaning the seats, it’s important to condition them to maintain their appearance and durability. Coconut oil is an excellent option for conditioning leather seats. Apply a small amount of coconut oil onto a cloth, gently rub it onto the seats and dashboard (avoiding cloth areas), and leave it for some time. This helps rejuvenate the leather and gives the interior of your car a fresh and new look.
