Through this, the company conducts tests in different areas. For the second time it could be that the company is preparing to bring it to the Indian market and for this reason its testing has been started.
Currently, the company has discontinued the Duster and is selling only the model. Renault has already launched this SUV in international markets and if it is launched in India, then this SUV can compete with Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos or MG Astor SUVs. Renault Arkana was first launched in Russia in the year 2019.
The Renault Arkana will compete in the mid-size SUV segment, which also includes the Tata Harrier. Talking about the size of the Renault Arkana, it measures 4,545 mm in length, 1,820 mm in width, 1,565 mm in height and 2,721 mm in wheelbase. It has been given a ground clearance of 208 mm and it is more than the company’s Renault Duster.
It uses an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, in which features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available. Along with this, a 9.3-inch digital instrument cluster is also available. It will also get 360-degree parking camera, Bose audio system and ambient color lighting.
Renault offers the Arkana SUV with a 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol engine in the global markets. This engine produces 150 Bhp of power and is mated to a CVT-type automatic gearbox. The car is available with an all-wheel-drive system. The Renault Arkana SUV could replace Renault for the Renault Duster SUV, which competes in the same segment.
Renault and Japanese carmakers Nissan Motor and Mitsubishi Motors Corp are going to work together to develop electric vehicles. The Renault-Nissan Mitsubishi Alliance may share its EV plans on Thursday, January 27. According to Reuters news agency, the three carmakers are planning to triple their investment to jointly develop electric vehicles.
Under this collaboration, 30 electric vehicles are expected to be launched which will be based on five EV platforms by the end of this decade. These five EV platforms are expected to be used for 90 percent of electric cars. This EV platform will be used in production by 2030.
