BYD Eto 3 vs Tata Nexon EV Max: Know which electric SUV is better?


The BYD Eto 3 range is ahead of many existing SUVs. The company claims that this electric SUV with 60.48kWh capacity battery provides a range of 521 km. The Nexon EV Max uses a 40.5 kWh lithium-ion battery pack and offers an ARAI certified range of 437 kms. In this case, in terms of range, Ato 3 takes the lead.


The BYD Eto 3 can be charged from 0 to 80% in just 50 minutes with a DC fast charger. On the other hand, this electric SUV can be fully charged in about 10 hours with a regular AC home charger. On the other hand, talking about Nexon EV Max, it has been introduced with options of 3.3 kW and 7.2 kW AC fast charger. The 7.2 kW AC fast charger can be installed at home or in the office.

With this, the SUV takes 6.5 hours to charge. At the same time, with 50 kW DC fast charger, it can be charged from 0 to 80% in just 56 minutes. So the Nexon EV comes with multiple charging options but in this area too, the BYD lags behind the Eto 3 by a few minutes.


The BYD Eto 3 electric SUV churns out 201 Bhp of power and 310 Nm of peak torque with the help of a single permanent magnet synchronous electric motor. This electric SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 7.3 seconds.

The Nexon EV Max is capable of generating 143 bhp of power and 250 Nm of torque from its 105 kW electric motor. At the same time, it can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 9 seconds.

The BYD Eto 3 measures 4,455 mm in length, 1,875 mm in width, 1,615 mm in height and 2,720 mm in wheelbase. It gets a boot space of 440-litres. In terms of features, the Eto3 gets a 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 8 speakers, a panoramic sunroof, LED lighting system, digital instrument cluster, etc.

The Tata Nexon EV Max measures 3993 mm in length, 1811 mm in width, 1616 mm in height and 2498 mm in wheelbase. It has 3 driving modes – Eco, City and Sport. It comes with the upgraded ZConnect 2.0 Connected Car technology with 48 connected car features. This will help in getting deep drive analytics and diagnostics. It also comes with additional features like smartwatch integration, auto/manual DTC check, charging limit setting, monthly vehicle reports and enhanced drive analytics.

Overall, the Tata Nexon EV Max seems to be slightly lagging behind the BYD Eto 3, though there is going to be a big difference between the two in terms of pricing. It remains to be seen whether the BYD Eto 3 can make its way into the market dominated by Nexon EVs.
